A journey far above the city

A journey far above the city

I mentioned in my previous post I would be traveling to Mount Rainier National Park on Saturday with my friends Dennis and Scott, and it was gorgeous.

I brought my Canon Rebel T2i, Pixel 3 XL, and my iPhone 7 to snap some photos, and am pleased to see that the Pixel won the contest (For click and shoot photos with no work, that is). My T2i still holds a fair fight against the others. I wouldn't have been able to get these shots with my Pixel 3 for instance:

That beautiful creature was way up high on a rock I had to use my 55mm - 250mm lens to catch. In general, the groundhogs in this area seemed to have no fear of humans:

Was neat to see as we went up and down the mountain the difference in weather where there would be fresh snow from just the day or so before, to basically normal spring weather:

I can also say without a doubt, I'm very out of shape. Going up and down just a few trails, I was out of breath. It felt like we didn't spend that much time up there, but we had actually spent several hours just checking out the various stopping spots up the mountain and down. I also took 2 'Photo Spheres' which you can check out here:

We had a lot of fun getting to hang out and see nature, in one of the many beautiful sights Washington has to offer. It was all of our first times going to Mount Rainier. After we checked out just a few of the sights, it was time to head back home. Thank you Scott and Dennis for taking me! I can't wait until the next time I can see more of Washington.
